4.1-18.1-15. Civil penalties The court may assess for the benefit of the state a civil penalty of not more than five thousand dollars for each violation of this chapter. The penalty provided in this section is in addition to those remedies otherwise provided by this chapter. The penalty must be awarded to the commissioner and deposited into the commissioner's general operating fund for use in regulating compliance with this chapter.
