In this chapter: (1) "Association" means the Texas Automobile Insurance Plan Association. (2) "Authorized insurer" means an insurer authorized by the department to write automobile liability coverage under this title. The term includes a county mutual insurance company organized under Chapter 912 . (3) "Insurance" means an insurance policy that meets the requirements of Chapter 601 , Transportation Code.
