(a) A person is ineligible to serve as a watcher at a particular location if the person is the employer of or is employed by or related within the second degree by consanguinity or affinity, as determined under Chapter 573 , Government Code, to an election judge, an election clerk, an early voting clerk, or a deputy clerk serving at that location. (b) For purposes of this section, a person is employed by an election officer in the same circumstances that a person is employed by a candidate under Section 32.054 (b).
