In this chapter: (1) "Animal control officer" means a person who: (A) is employed, appointed, or otherwise engaged primarily to enforce laws relating to animal control; and (B) is not a peace officer. (2) "Department" means the Department of State Health Services. Added by Acts 2007, 80th Leg., R.S., Ch. 1331 (S.B. 1562 ), Sec. 1, eff. September 1, 2007.
