The commission, in collaboration with managed care organizations that contract with the commission to provide health care services to medical assistance recipients under Chapter 540 or 540A , Government Code, as applicable, shall develop and implement cost-effective, evidence-based, and enhanced prenatal services for high-risk pregnant women covered under the medical assistance program.
