In a notice to an applicant or insured relating to declination, cancellation, or refusal to renew, an insurer must state the reason for the declination, cancellation, or nonrenewal. The statement must comply with: (1) Sections 551.002 (b) and (c); and (2) rules adopted under Section 551.002 (d). Added by Acts 2003, 78th Leg., ch. 1274, Sec. 2, eff. April 1, 2005.
