(a) On receipt of a petition signed by at least five percent of the taxpaying voters in the district, the court may order an election to determine whether the district shall have a separate tax assessor and separate tax collector for the assessment and collection of district taxes. (b) Notice of the election shall be given as required by Section 1087.052 . Added by Acts 2013, 83rd Leg., R.S., Ch. 112 (S.B. 1026 ), Sec. 1.01, eff. April 1, 2015.
