Development Character Areas
San Diego Municipal Code § 131.0105
in effectDevelopment Character Areas are established to ensure that appropriate development
regulations are applied to community plan areas based upon their age and geographic
location and include Proposition A Lands, Planned Urbanized Communities, and
Urbanized Communities. Development Character Area boundaries generally follow
community plan area boundaries except in the case of University City, which falls
into two Development Character Areas. Development Character Areas are
represented on Figure 131-01A.
