(a) Notwithstanding Section 2301.002 , in this section, "certificate of title," "motor vehicle," and "owner" have the meanings assigned by Section 501.002 , Transportation Code. (b) An owner required to register under Section 152.065 , Tax Code, may not use or retain for use for a usual commercial purpose of the owner a motor vehicle that has been issued a certificate of title under Section 501.100 , Transportation Code.
