Police powers
Ind. Code § 11-8-9-3
in effectSec. 3. Except as provided in section 4 of this chapter, a correctional police officer may:
(1) make an arrest;
(2) conduct a search or a seizure of a person or property;
(3) carry a firearm; and
(4) exercise other police powers with respect to the enforcement of Indiana laws.
