(a) A nonfranchised dealer may not operate as a dealer unless the person holds a general distinguishing number. A nonfranchised dealer is not required to obtain an additional license under this chapter. (b) For purposes of a nonfranchised dealer, a reference to a license in this chapter means a general distinguishing number. Added by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 1421, Sec. 5, eff. June 1, 2003.
