14C-1-101.4 Responsibility. The following persons are responsible for the safety of a conveyance device regulated by this code and shall comply with the requirements of this code: the owner of the real property on which the conveyance device is located; any lessee of the real property on which the conveyance device is located; the real property owner or lessee’s agent; the owner of the conveyance device; any lessee of the conveyance device; the conveyance device owner or lessee’s agent; and any person charged with managing, controlling, or reporting on the conveyance device within the scope of services provided by such person pursuant to a contract.
