Municipal Code of Chicago § 14C-5-0.1 Adoption of the Performance-Based Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators by reference.

14C-5-0.1 Adoption of the Performance-Based Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators by reference. The American Society of Mechanical Engineers’ ASME A17.7, Performance-Based Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators, 2007 edition (hereinafter known as ASME A17.7) is adopted by reference and shall be considered part of the requirements of this chapter, except as modified by specific provisions of this code. If differences occur between a provision modified by this code and a provision adopted without modification, the modified provision shall control.
