The accessible portion of abandoned optical fiber and other cables, power sources, and other associated equipment shall be removed. Where cables are identified for future use with a tag, such tag shall be of sufficient durability to withstand the environment involved. Power sources and other associated equipment tagged for future use shall be de-energized.
