Doors and windows within 10 feet (3048 mm) of fire escape stairways must be protected with 3/4-hour opening protectives. Exception: Opening protectives are not required in buildings equipped throughout with an automatic sprinkler system. (Amend Coun. J. 10-7-20, p. 21791, Art. V, § 12)
