14X-5-505.14.1 Location.

Stairways must have handrails on at least one side. Handrails must be located so that all portions of the stairway width required for egress capacity are within 44 inches (1118 mm) of a handrail. Exception: Aisle stairs provided with a center handrail are not required to have additional handrails.
