14X-5-505.9.8 Stairway discharge identification.
An interior exit stairway or ramp that continues below its level of exit discharge must be arranged and marked to make the direction of egress to a public way readily identifiable. Exception: Stairways that continue one-half story beyond their levels of exit discharge do not require barriers where the exit discharge is obvious.
