Section 408.11 – Add new Section 408.11 to Part I read as follows: 408.11 Modification of Equipment. For the purpose of this section, the modification of equipment shall be considered equipment that is changed in rating, dimension, configuration, or altered from the original manufacturer's design. The modification of equipment shall use design qualified parts verified under applicable standards and shall be performed by an approved qualified person in accordance with any instructions provided by the manufacturer. The modified equipment shall be marked with the name, trademark, or other descriptive marking by which the organization responsible for modification of the electrical equipment can be identified, along with the date and description of the modification.
