Section 706.1 – Add a paragraph after the opening paragraph in Section 706.1 to read as follows: An Energy Storage System (“ESS”) shall be of a chemistry that is recognized by the New York City Construction Codes, the New York City Fire Code, and other applicable New York City laws, rules and regulations, unless otherwise approved by the department. In addition to an electrical permit, the equipment shall be filed and approved by the department in accordance with Article 113 of the Administrative Code. Section 706.1 – Add a new Informational Note No. 4 to read as follows: Informational Note No. 4: Contact the Office of Technical Certification and Research (“OTCR”) for evaluation requirements of ESS battery chemistry not addressed or recognized by the New York City Construction Codes.
