Sec. 42-44. - Responsibility for badges. Every member of the classified service of the police department shall wear a suitable badge to be furnished by the city. Any member who shall lose or destroy the badge shall be required to pay the cost of replacing it, and whenever any member shall leave the department, the member shall immediately deliver the badge to the chief of police. (Code 1950, § 201.4)
