Sec. 946. - Compensation of president and members of board. Members of the board of education of the Memphis City schools shall be paid five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) per annum, payable semi-monthly, and the president of the said board shall be paid five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) per annum, payable semi-monthly. The members of the board of education, including the president, shall not be required to devote full time to their duties but may engage actively in other businesses or professions not directly connected therewith.
