23:1207. Rival claimants; payment; discharge of employer Payment of compensation under this Chapter by an employer to a dependent subsequent in right to another or other dependent shall protect and discharge the employer unless and until the dependent or dependents prior in right have given the employer notice of his or their claim. In case the employer is in doubt as to the respective rights of rival claimants the employer may apply to the court to decide between them.
