Denver Revised Municipal Code § 17-51 Defined.

Sec. 17-51. - Defined. Private emergency vehicles, for the purposes of this article, are privately owned emergency vehicles other than ambulances, employed by public service corporations, and such other vehicles as may be designated by the manager of safety as authorized emergency vehicles pursuant to the provisions of section 54-1. (Code 1950, § 974.1)

Denver Revised Municipal Code § 17-52 Uniforms.

Sec. 17-52. - Uniforms. Uniforms, if any, worn by the operators of private emergency vehicles, will be of a different color and design from those worn by officers of the police department, sheriff's department and officers of the state patrol. Such uniforms shall be presented to the manager of safety for approval as to the color and designs prior to use by an operator of a private emergency vehicle; and once the uniform has been approved, it shall not thereafter be changed except by approval of the manager. Denver Revised Municipal Code § 17-53 Vehicles.

Sec. 17-53. - Vehicles. The vehicles used as private emergency vehicles within the city by any licensee shall be of a color approved by the manager of safety, and different from that of the vehicles of the police department uniform patrol division; and once determined shall not be changed except by approval of the manager. In addition, no insignia shall be painted on the sides of any private emergency vehicle which is similar to or which could be confused with that painted on the sides of the vehicles of the police department uniform patrol division. Denver Revised Municipal Code § 17-54 Firearms.

Sec. 17-54. - Firearms. A license to operate a private emergency vehicle shall not authorize the holder of the license to carry firearms. (Code 1950, § 974.8)

Denver Revised Municipal Code § 17-55 Rules and regulations.

Sec. 17-55. - Rules and regulations. The manager of licensing and consumer protection may adopt and enforce reasonable rules and regulations for operation of private emergency vehicles and for the use of identification cards, uniforms and equipment in connection with such operation, to carry out the purposes and provisions of this article.
