Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-451 Pedestrians subject to traffic control signals.

§ 32-451. - Pedestrians subject to traffic control signals. Pedestrians shall be subject to traffic control signals as provided for in this Code, but at all other places pedestrians shall be granted those rights and be subject to the restrictions stated in this article. Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-452 Pedestrians' right-of-way in crosswalk.

§ 32-452. - Pedestrians' right-of-way in crosswalk. (a) The driver of a vehicle shall yield the right-of-way when traffic control signals are not in place or not in operation to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within a crosswalk when the pedestrian is upon the half of the roadway upon which the vehicle is traveling, or when the pedestrian is approaching so closely from the opposite half of the roadway as to be in danger. (b) No pedestrian shall suddenly leave a curb or other place of safety and walk or run into the path of a vehicle, which is so close that it is impossible for the driver to yield. (c) Whenever any vehicle is stopped at a marked crosswalk or at any unmarked crosswalk at an intersection to permit a pedestrian to cross the roadway, the driver of any other vehicle approaching from the rear shall not overtake and pass the stopped vehicle. Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-453 Pedestrians to use right half of crosswalk.

§ 32-453. - Pedestrians to use right half of crosswalk. Pedestrians, when crossing the street at a crosswalk, shall move, whenever practical, upon the right half of the crosswalk. (Code 1970, § 34-155; Code 1980, § 32-453)

Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-454 Crossing at right angles to curb required.

§ 32-454. - Crossing at right angles to curb required. No pedestrian shall cross a roadway at any place other than by a route at right angles to the curb or by the shortest route to the opposite curb except in a crosswalk. (Code 1970, § 34-156; Code 1980, § 32-454)

Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-455 When pedestrians must yield right-of-way.

§ 32-455. - When pedestrians must yield right-of-way. (a) Every pedestrian crossing a roadway at any point other than within a marked crosswalk or within an unmarked crosswalk at an intersection shall yield the right-of-way to vehicles upon the roadway. (b) Any pedestrian crossing a roadway at a point where a pedestrian tunnel or overhead pedestrian crossing has been provided shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles upon the roadway. (c) The foregoing rules in this section have no application when pedestrians are prohibited from crossing at designated places. (Code 1970, § 34-157; Code 1980, § 32-455)

Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-456 Obedience of pedestrians to bridge and railroad signals.

§ 32-456. - Obedience of pedestrians to bridge and railroad signals. (a) No pedestrian shall enter or remain upon any bridge or approach thereto beyond the bridge signal, gate, or barrier after a bridge operation signal indication has been given. (b) No pedestrian shall pass through, around, over, or under any crossing gate or barrier at a railroad grade crossing or bridge while such gate or barrier is closed or is being opened or closed. Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-457 Pedestrians walking along roadways.

§ 32-457. - Pedestrians walking along roadways. (a) No pedestrian shall walk on a roadway, street, or highway in a careless or negligent manner and/or endanger anyone's life, limb or property and/or interfere with the lawful traffic and/or use of the streets, regardless whether adjacent sidewalks are provided. The provisions of this subsection shall not apply to persons who have not been warned by a Police Officer and provided an opportunity to comply. (b) Pedestrians walking along and upon a roadway, street or highway shall when practicable walk only on the left side of the roadway or its shoulder facing traffic which may approach from the opposite direction. (c) It shall be unlawful for any person to enter upon any portion of a bridge for the purpose of diving, jumping and/or throwing any object into a lake, river, stream, street, highway, public right-of-way or public property. Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-459 Drivers to exercise due care.

§ 32-459. - Drivers to exercise due care. Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions of this article every driver of a vehicle shall exercise due care to avoid colliding with any pedestrian upon any roadway and shall give warning by sounding the horn when necessary and shall exercise proper precaution upon observing any child or any confused or incapacitated person upon a roadway.
