Sec. 2-4-2. - Bonds—Approval and filing. All bonds of city officers shall, before being accepted, be approved by the mayor, comptroller and city attorney. They shall be duly executed and approved before such officers enter upon the discharge of their duties. Each such bond shall be filed with the comptroller and preserved by him or her. (Code 1967, § 2-21; Code 1985, § 2-32)
