c. 169, § 16. Penalties [Text of section effective until January 1, 2026. Repealed by 2024, 312, Sec. 2. See 2024, 312, Sec. 5.] Section 16. Whoever violates any provision of this chapter or any rule or regulation made hereunder by the commissioner shall be punished by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars or by imprisonment for not more than one year, or both.
