Memphis Code of Ordinances § 9-20-1 Financial responsibility of owners and operators.

Sec. 9-20-1. - Financial responsibility of owners and operators. All owners and operators of ambulances shall meet the requirements of the laws of the state as to financial responsibility for the operation of their vehicles. (Code 1967, § 6-1; Code 1985, § 16-106)

Memphis Code of Ordinances § 9-20-2 Driver and attendant to be available.

Sec. 9-20-2. - Driver and attendant to be available. Each vehicle designated as an ambulance shall have a driver and an attendant available at all times while an injured or ill person is occupying the vehicle. (Code 1967, § 6-2; Code 1985, § 16-107)

Memphis Code of Ordinances § 9-20-3 Attendants to have first aid certificate.

Sec. 9-20-3. - Attendants to have first aid certificate. All ambulance attendants employed to render aid to the injured persons suffering from an illness shall be required to complete a course in first aid given by the Red Cross before being assigned as such attendants and shall be recertified by the Red Cross annually as to proficiency. Memphis Code of Ordinances § 9-20-4 Age of drivers—Driver's license.

Sec. 9-20-4. - Age of drivers—Driver's license. Ambulance drivers shall be 21 years of age or over and shall be duly licensed to operate vehicles under the laws of the state. (Code 1967, § 6-4; Code 1985, § 16-109)

Memphis Code of Ordinances § 9-20-5 Display of red light on vehicle.

Sec. 9-20-5. - Display of red light on vehicle. Vehicles designated as ambulances shall display at least one lighted red lamp visible under normal atmospheric conditions from a distance of 500 feet to the front of such vehicle while on emergency runs. (Code 1967, § 6-7; Code 1985, § 16-110)

Memphis Code of Ordinances § 9-20-6 Vehicle to be equipped with oxygen, splints and sandbags.

Sec. 9-20-6. - Vehicle to be equipped with oxygen, splints and sandbags. Each vehicle designated as an ambulance shall be equipped with oxygen apparatus complete with pressure regulator with one hour's supply at normal rate of usage, and further shall be equipped with a set of splints, sandbags and first aid kits. (Code 1967, § 6-8; Code 1985, § 16-111)

Memphis Code of Ordinances § 9-20-7 Notice to police of accident calls.

Sec. 9-20-7. - Notice to police of accident calls. Every person operating an ambulance within the city shall, upon receipt of a call to any accident involving death, injury or property damage, before leaving any establishment to answer such call, notify the division of police services of the location of the accident and the fact that they are answering the call. (Code 1967, § 6-9; Code 1985, § 16-112)
