9-104-125 Taximeter and fare payment. A licensee is responsible for ensuring that the taxicab the licensee operates is equipped with an operational taximeter. A licensee who operates a taxicab must activate the taximeter at the start of a passenger trip for all passengers secured through “street hail” or taxicab stand. A licensee who operates a taxicab is exempt from activating the taximeter for passengers secured through a taxi e-hail dispatching smart phone application or platform. (Added Coun.
