Sec. 53-525. - Payment to eligible persons.

(a) A person is eligible for payment under this article when the person: (1) Purchases a qualified replacement unit prior to January 1, 1996; and (2) Pays a sales tax or use tax assessed on the purchase; and (3) Obtains a permit from the city for the installation of the qualified replacement unit; and (4) Uses the qualified replacement unit for the conversion of an existing solid fuel-fired heating device in the city; and (5) Files an acceptable application with the manager. (b) The manager of finance shall pay to a person eligible for payment under this article, provided application is filed with the manager as required by this article, an amount equal to the sales tax or use tax the person pays to the city under either article II or III of this chapter on the purchase of the qualified replacement unit.
