§ 56-47. - Lost property.

It shall be the duty of every motor vehicle for hire driver to return immediately to the owner, if known, all luggage, merchandise or other property left in the motor vehicle for hire. If the owner of such property is not known, the driver shall immediately give the property to the licensee under whose authority the driver is operating a motor vehicle for hire. If not claimed from the licensee within 30 days, the licensee shall give said property to the Vehicle for Hire Inspector, giving a complete report of when and where the property was left in the vehicle. Said property will be booked into the OCPD Property Room in accordance with OCPD policy and procedure.
