1.08.010 - Designated.
Whenever in this code or in any ordinance of the city an act is prohibited or is made or declared to be unlawful or an offense or a misdemeanor, or whenever in such code or ordinance the doing of any act is commanded or the failure to do any act is made or declared to be unlawful or an offense or a misdemeanor, the violation of any such provision shall be deemed a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars. Provided, however, if a different penalty by fine is specifically provided for any act or omission, such penalty shall apply; and provided further, if any violation is also a penal offense under any law of this state, the penalty imposed by this code shall be the same as the penalty imposed by the state law.
