§ 12.26.020 — Definitions

12.26.020 - Definitions.

A. For the purposes of this section, the following terms, phrases, words and their derivations shall have the meaning given herein. When not inconsistent with the context, words used in the present tense include the future; words in the plural number include the singular; and words in the singular number include the plural. B. "Cruise" or "cruising" means to operate a motor vehicle, or to permit the operation of a motor vehicle under one's care, custody or control, so as to pass the same traffic control point within a no cruising zone three times within any two-hour period. C. "Traffic control point" means any point established by the chief of police or a commander of a police department regional command center within a no cruising zone for the purpose of monitoring cruising. Such points shall be located within the same city block as a sign posted in accordance with Section 12.26.050 of this code. D. "No cruising zone" means the following areas: 1. Lee Trevino Drive between Gateway Boulevard West and Pebble Hills Boulevard; 2. Delta Drive between Alameda Avenue and Boone Street; 3. North Mesa Street between Sunbowl Drive and Schuster Avenue; 4. North Mesa Street between Thunderbird Drive and Camille Drive; 5. Sunland Park Drive between the intersection of the exit ramp from the westbound lanes of Interstate Highway 10 with Sunland Park Drive to Crestmont Drive; 6. North Mesa Street between South Desert Boulevard and Doniphan Drive; 7. Yarbrough Drive between Alameda Avenue and North Loop Drive; 8. Zaragoza Road between Alameda Avenue and North Loop Drive; 9. Alameda Avenue between Delta Drive and Little Flower Road; 10. Alameda Avenue between Americas Avenue and Old Pueblo Road; 11. Americas Avenue between Alameda Avenue and Socorro Road; 12. Montana Avenue between Lee Trevino Drive and Trowbridge Avenue; 13. Dyer Street between Pershing Drive and Hondo Pass Avenue; and 14. Doniphan Drive between Sunland Park Drive and the El Paso city limits located 256 feet north of Mowad Road.
