§ 13-24 FIRE APPOINTEES.

(a) The fire chief shall have the authority to select and appoint up to three persons to the classification immediately below that of fire chief. (b) The fire chief shall have the authority to select and appoint up to four persons to the classification of deputy chief, which will be immediately below that of assistant chief and immediately above that of battalion chief. (c) Each person appointed under this section shall serve at the pleasure of the fire chief. Eligibility for appointment of and the protections afforded to appointees hereunder shall be as set forth in Tex. Local Government Code §§ 143.014(g) and 143.014(h).
