Sec. 948. - Same—Absent from City. In the event a person elected as a member of the board of education of the Memphis City schools shall be absent from duty without proper and reasonable explanation therefor being made to the said board for a period of ninety (90) days, his or her said office shall be declared vacated and said vacancy shall be filled as hereinabove provided.
