Austin City Code § 13-2-401 TAXICAB SERVICE DESCRIBED.

§ 13-2-401 - TAXICAB SERVICE DESCRIBED. Taxicab service consists of service that operates on irregular routes and schedules on a call-and-demand basis, for compensation for that is usually determined by a taximeter. Austin City Code § 13-2-402 GENERAL STANDARDS.

§ 13-2-402 - GENERAL STANDARDS. (A) A holder of a taxicab service operating authority shall comply with Article 2, Division 1 (Operating Authority). (B) An applicant for a taxicab service operating authority must be able to operate the taxicab service in accordance with the requirements of this chapter, rules of the department, orders issued under this chapter, and other applicable law; (C) An applicant for a taxicab operating authority must agree to provide taxicab service throughout the city. (D) A taxicab operating authority must maintain a licensed fleet of at least 25 taxicabs, six percent of which shall be WAVs.
