12.88.040: ENFORCEMENT AND EVALUATION OF TESTING: A. The Salt Lake City police department shall enforce the provisions of this chapter. Said department may be equipped with the appropriate equipment for measuring sound levels, as provided in section 12.88.030 of this chapter, or its successor, for purposes of enforcing this chapter, or may employ appropriate equipment provided by other agencies. B. Where a motor vehicle is deemed to be in violation of this chapter, the owner may transport it to a central testing location for further evaluation. If such vehicle is reevaluated and found not to be in violation of the decibel standards outlined above, no further proceedings shall be instituted and any citation issued shall be dismissed.
