Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-576 Obstruction of driver's view or interference with control of vehicle.

§ 32-576. - Obstruction of driver's view or interference with control of vehicle. (a) No person shall drive a vehicle upon any street or highway when the vehicle has more than three people in the front seat of the vehicle, or drive a vehicle that is so loaded with passengers either seated or standing in such a manner or position so as to constitute a traffic hazard by obstructing the view of the driver or by interfering with the driver's control over the vehicle. (b) No passenger shall ride or stand in a vehicle while the vehicle is being driven upon any street or highway in such a position or manner so as to constitute a traffic hazard by obstructing the driver's view or by interfering with the driver's control over the vehicle. Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-577 Coasters, roller skates and similar devices.

§ 32-577. - Coasters, roller skates and similar devices. (a) No person upon roller skates, or riding in or by means of any coaster, scooter, toy wagon or similar device, shall go upon any roadway except while crossing a street at a crosswalk and when so crossing such person shall be granted all rights and shall be subject to all duties applicable to pedestrians. (b) The provisions of Subsection (a) shall not apply upon any street while set aside as a play street when authorized by law. (Code 1970, § 34-182; Code 1980, § 32-577)

Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-578 Driving on sidewalk.

§ 32-578. - Driving on sidewalk. No person shall drive any vehicle within or upon any sidewalk area except at a permanent or temporary driveway. (Code 1970, § 34-66; Code 1980, § 32-578)

Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-579 Use of earphones by pedestrians, vehicle operators, etc.

§ 32-579. - Use of earphones by pedestrians, vehicle operators, etc. (a) The use of earphones and headphones by joggers, bicyclists, pedestrians and operators of motorized or self-powered vehicles is prohibited while said persons are using municipal streets and thoroughfares in the City. Pedestrians and joggers using earphones and headphones are required to remove said devices prior to leaving the sidewalk to cross the street or to walk temporarily on the aforementioned roadways. (b) "Headphones" and "earphones" shall include all head and ear gear worn on or about the head capable of reproducing sound from a radio receiver, tape player or similar device and shall not include similar devices which, in contrast, do not reproduce sound and are designed to and are capable only of minimizing injurious noise levels. A separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues. (Code 1980, § 32-578.1; Ord. No. 17167, § 1(34-276.01—34-276.03), 5-17-83)

Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-580 Minibikes and off-road recreational vehicles prohibited; exceptions; helmets required.

§ 32-580. - Minibikes and off-road recreational vehicles prohibited; exceptions; helmets required. (a) No person shall drive or operate an off-road recreational vehicle, nor any self-propelled or motor-driven cycle, known and commonly referred to as minibikes, trail bikes and other similar trade names, upon, over or across any City street, alley, park, parkway, or any other public right-of-way or municipally owned land, except where permitted by signs posted by the appropriate authority. (b) Minibikes used by regularly organized units of any Shrine Temple or other similar organization shall be exempt from the provisions of Subsection (a) while being used in any parade or other function of said body. (c) Every person operating any off-road recreational vehicle or self-propelled or motor-driven cycle upon municipally owned land, as designated by the proper authority, shall wear a crash helmet while operating such vehicles. Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-581 Limitations on backing.

§ 32-581. - Limitations on backing. (a) The driver of a vehicle shall not back the vehicle unless such movement can be made with reasonable safety and without interfering with other traffic; provided, however, that no vehicle shall be backed into an intersection. (b) No vehicle shall be backed upon any street or highway except for the purpose of entering or leaving a parked position and then only after the driver of the vehicle has ascertained that such movement can be made without endangering other traffic. Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-582 Limitation on use of motorcycles and motor scooters.

§ 32-582. - Limitation on use of motorcycles and motor scooters. (a) No driver of a two- or three-wheel motor vehicle shall carry any other person upon or within such vehicle on any street or highway, except as provided below: (1) if any two- or three-wheel motor vehicle with a wheel diameter of 12 inches or greater shall have either a double seating device with double foot rests or a side car attachment providing a separate seat space within such side car attachment for each person riding therein so that such person shall be seated entirely within the body of said side car, then it shall be permissible for an operator who has attained the age of 16 or older to carry a passenger; (2) a demonstration ride by a licensed dealer or his employee is permissible. (b) No motorcycle or motor scooter shall be ridden upon any sidewalk. (c) Handlebars on motorcycles and motor scooters shall not exceed 12 inches in height, measured from the crown or point of attachment. (d) No rider of a motorcycle or motor scooter shall hold to any moving vehicle for the purpose of being propelled. (Code 1970, § 34-69; Code 1980, § 32-581; Ord. No. 24273, § 3, 5-24-11)

Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-583 Special speed limitation on motorcycles and motor scooters.

§ 32-583. - Special speed limitation on motorcycles and motor scooters. No person shall operate any motorcycle or any motor scooter at a speed greater than the speed limit legally posted. In no event nor at any time may an operator under the age of 16 years operate a motorcycle or motor scooter at a speed greater than 35 miles per hour. (Code 1970, § 34-70; Code 1980, § 32-582)

Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-584 Clinging to vehicles.

§ 32-584. - Clinging to vehicles. No person riding upon any bicycle, coaster, roller skates, sled, or toy vehicle shall attach the same or himself to any moving vehicle upon a roadway. (Code 1970, § 34-71; Code 1980, § 32-583)

Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-585 Entering and leaving controlled access highways.

§ 32-585. - Entering and leaving controlled access highways. No person shall drive a vehicle onto or from any controlled access highway except at entrances and exits established by public authority. (Code 1970, § 34-72; Code 1980, § 32-584)

Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-586 Following fire apparatus.

§ 32-586. - Following fire apparatus. The driver of any vehicle other than one on official business shall not follow any fire apparatus traveling in response to a fire alarm closer than 500 feet or drive into or park such vehicle within the block where fire apparatus has stopped in answer to a fire alarm. Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-587 Crossing fire hose.

§ 32-587. - Crossing fire hose. No vehicle shall be driven over any unprotected hose of a fire department used at any fire or alarm of fire, without the consent of the fire department official in command. (Code 1970, § 34-56; Code 1980, § 32-586)

Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-588 Processions generally.

§ 32-588. - Processions generally. (a) Each driver in a funeral or other procession shall drive as near to the righthand edge of the roadway as practical and shall follow the vehicle ahead as close as is practical and safe. (b) A funeral composed of a procession of vehicles shall be identified as such by the display upon the outside of each vehicle such of identifying insignia as may be determined and designated by the Police Department. Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-589 Driving through processions.

§ 32-589. - Driving through processions. No driver of a vehicle shall drive between the vehicles comprising a funeral or other authorized procession while they are in motion and when such vehicles are conspicuously designated as required in this article. This provision shall not apply at intersections where traffic is controlled by traffic control signals or Police Officers. (Code 1970, § 34-57; Code 1980, § 32-588)

Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-590 Skateboarding, rollerblading and rollerskating prohibited.

§ 32-590. - Skateboarding, rollerblading and rollerskating prohibited. (a) No person shall operate, ride upon, or propel any skateboard, rollerblades and rollerskates, on or over any public street, sidewalk, alley, plaza, or parking area within the area bounded by the west line of the Santa Fe Railroad right-of-way on the east, the west right-of-way line of Shartel Avenue on the west, the north right-of-way line of Northwest 13th Street on the north, and the south right-of-way line of Southwest 2nd Street on the south; or on or over any private property within said area conspicuously displaying signs that skateboarding, rollerblading and rollerskating are prohibited. (b) The provisions of this section shall not apply to any public street, sidewalk, alley, plaza, or parking area, which has been closed or set aside for the purpose of a community event, celebration, or festival for which a revocable permit has been approved by the Council for the sole, limited purpose of skateboarding, rollerblading and rollerskating.
