2-03. Election and Term. In all cities of the first class, however incorporated, the mayor, the treasurer, city attorney, comptrol l er, and one alderman from each ward shall be elected on the first Tuesday in April for a period of 4 years beginning April, 1924, and quadrennially thereafter. The officials so elected shall enter upon the duties of their respective offices on the 3rd Tuesday in April in the year of their election, and shall hold their respective offices for the term of 4 years and until their successors shall be elected and qualified.
