Sec. 35-310.03. - "RE" Residential Estate District. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE The rural estate (RE) district is the designation for a low-density residential use on a lot that is a minimum of one (1) acre. The "RE" district implements the following policies of the master plan: • Growth Management, Policy 1b: Ensure that proposed land uses and development are compatible in their use, character and size to the site and the surrounding areas. • Urban Design, Policy 1a: based on a comprehensive land use plan, encourage more intensive development in and near neighborhood centers with less intensive development between neighborhood centers, and implement these changes through zoning. • Urban Design, Policy 1c: Encourage patterns of urban development that provide a full range of housing choices and promote a sense of community, urban vitality and the efficient provision of infrastructure.
