§ 2-89. - Assistant City Manager. The office of Assistant City Manager is created in the Division of Public Management. The Assistant City Manager shall assist the City Manager in all work of the City Manager's Office in whatever respect and manner as he shall be directed by the City Manager. In the event that the City Manager shall for any reason be temporarily absent or incapable of performing the duties of his office, the Assistant City Manager shall perform such duties as Manager pro tempore until the Manager shall return to duty, or a new Manager be selected. Provided, however, that nothing contained herein shall prohibit the appointment of multiple Assistant City Managers. (Code 1970, § 2-63; Code 1980, § 2-89; Ord. No. 18608, § 1, 10-28-86)
