Columbus City Codes § 211.01 The mayor.

211.01 - The mayor. The mayor shall be the chief executive officer of the city with the power to appoint and remove all directors of departments established herein and all directors of departments that may hereinafter be established. Nothing contained in the Administrative Code shall be deemed to restrict, lessen or invalidate any of the powers and duties vested in the mayor by the Charter of the city of Columbus. Columbus City Codes § 211.02 Office of the mayor.

211.02 - Office of the mayor. The office of the mayor shall consist of the mayor, an executive assistant to the mayor, the equal business opportunity commission office and such other officers and employees authorized by the Charter or ordinance of council. (Ord. 1176-95.)

Columbus City Codes § 211.03 Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

211.03 - Office of Diversity and Inclusion. The office of diversity and inclusion is established within the office of the mayor. The office of diversity and inclusion shall be responsible for the implementation and administration of the policies and programs set forth in Title 39. The office of diversity and inclusion shall consist of a director and other staff members as authorized by the mayor and city council. (Ord. No. 3025-2016, § 2, 12-12-2016)

Columbus City Codes § 211.06 Office of Education.

211.06 - Office of Education. The Office of Education is established within the Office of the Mayor. The Office of Education shall have as its primary duty the recommendation, development and implementation of ideas and programs to enhance the ability of the city to provide quality life-long learning opportunities for the citizens of Columbus. The Office of Education shall consist of a director and one department deputy director and other staff members as authorized by the mayor and city council. (Ord. No. 3192-2021, § 1, 12-6-2021)

Columbus City Codes § 211.07 Office of Violence Prevention

211.07 - Office of Violence Prevention The Office of Violence Prevention will serve as the City's hub for all anti-violence activities. The Office will evaluate existing programming and will require the cooperation of department leads assigned to work with the Office to share information. The Office will also be responsible for collecting data, shared by (and with) its partners, and conducting research based upon that data to capture a clearer picture as to where the City of Columbus stands with violence and prevention efforts, as well as where further resources might be needed. The Office will work collaboratively with city departments, public and private partners, and the Columbus community to further its efforts. (Ord. No. 3240-2022, § 1, 12-12-2022)
