Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-216 Vehicle approaching or entering intersection.

§ 32-216. - Vehicle approaching or entering intersection. (a) When two vehicles enter or approach an uncontrolled intersection from different highways at approximately the same time, the driver of the vehicle on the left shall yield the right-of-way to the vehicle on the right. (b) The right-of-way rule declared in Subsection (a) of this section is modified at through highways as otherwise stated in this chapter. (Code 1970, § 34-22; Code 1980, § 32-216)

Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-217 Vehicle turning left at intersection.

§ 32-217. - Vehicle turning left at intersection. The driver of a vehicle within an intersection intending to turn to the left shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction which is within the intersection or so close thereto as to constitute an immediate hazard. After so yielding and having given a signal when and as required by this Code, the driver may make the left turn and the drivers of all other vehicles approaching the intersection from the opposite direction shall yield the right-of-way to the vehicle making the left turn. Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-218 Yield signs.

§ 32-218. - Yield signs. The driver of a vehicle approaching a "yield right-of-way" sign shall slow to a reasonable speed for existing conditions of traffic and visibility, yielding the right-of-way to all vehicles on the intersecting street or highway which have entered the intersection or which are so close as to constitute an immediate hazard. Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-219 Vehicles entering through highway.

§ 32-219. - Vehicles entering through highway. (a) Except when directed to proceed by a Police Officer or a traffic control signal, every driver of a vehicle shall stop as required by this Code at the entrance to a through highway and shall yield the right-of-way to other vehicles which have entered the intersection from the through highway, or which are approaching so closely on the through highway as to constitute an immediate hazard. (b) If two or more vehicles face stop, slow, warning or caution signs or signals at an intersection and are approaching so as to enter the intersection at the same time, the following rules shall apply: (1) if each vehicle is required to stop, the vehicle coming from the right shall have the right-of-way. (2) if each vehicle is required to slow, the vehicle coming from the right shall have the right-of-way. (3) if each vehicle is required to take caution, the vehicle coming from the right shall have the right-of-way. (4) if one vehicle is required to stop and the other to slow or take caution, the one slowing or taking caution shall have the right-of-way. (5) if one vehicle is required to slow and the other to take caution, the one required to take caution shall have the right-of-way. (6) in any event, a vehicle which has already entered the intersection shall have the right-of-way over one which has not entered the intersection. (Code 1970, § 34-25; Code 1980, § 32-219)

Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-220 Vehicle entering highway from private road or driveway.

§ 32-220. - Vehicle entering highway from private road or driveway. The driver of a vehicle about to enter, leave or cross a highway from or into a private road or driveway shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching on the highway. (Code 1970, § 34-26; Code 1980, § 32-220)

Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-221 Operation of vehicle on approach of authorized emergency vehicles.

§ 32-221. - Operation of vehicle on approach of authorized emergency vehicles. (a) Upon the immediate approach of an authorized emergency vehicle responding to emergency calls, the driver of every vehicle shall yield the right-of-way and shall immediately drive to a position parallel to, and as close as possible to, the righthand edge or curb of the roadway, clear of any intersection, and shall stop and remain in the position until the authorized emergency vehicle has passed, except when otherwise directed by a Police Officer. (b) The authorized emergency vehicle while responding to emergency calls shall be equipped with and have in operation at least one lighted lamp exhibiting red light visible under normal atmospheric conditions from a distance of 500 feet to the front of the vehicle and the driver shall give an audible signal by siren or bell. (c) This section shall not operate to relieve the driver of an authorized emergency vehicle from the duty to drive with due regard for the safety of all persons using the highway. Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-221.1 Approaching stationary emergency vehicle displaying flashing lights.

§ 32-221.1. - Approaching stationary emergency vehicle displaying flashing lights. (a) The driver of a motor vehicle, upon approaching a stationary authorized emergency vehicle that is displaying a flashing combination red or blue lights or any other combination of red or blue lights, shall: (1) If traveling on a highway that consists of two or more lanes that carry traffic in the same direction of travel as that of the driver, the driver shall proceed with due caution and shall, if possible and with due regard to the road, weather, and traffic conditions, change lanes into a lane that is not adjacent to the stationary authorized emergency vehicle; or if the driver is not able to change lanes or if to do so would be unsafe, the driver shall proceed with due caution and reduce the speed of the motor vehicle to a safe speed for the existing road, weather, and traffic conditions; and (2) If traveling on a highway other than a highway described in Paragraph 1 of this subsection, the driver shall proceed with due caution and reduce the speed of the motor vehicle to a safe speed for the existing road, weather, and traffic conditions. (b) This section does not relieve the operator of a stationary authorized emergency vehicle from the consequences of reckless disregard for the safety of all persons and property upon the highway. (c) Any person who violates this section shall be guilty of a Class "a" offense. (Ord. No. 23593, § 1, 4-22-08)

Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 32-222 Vehicles entering traffic from parallel parking.

§ 32-222. - Vehicles entering traffic from parallel parking. Any vehicle attempting to re-enter traffic while parked parallel with the curb shall yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic in the street approaching from the rear. The parked vehicle shall proceed into the line of traffic only after the driver has given the appropriate signal which indicates his intention of turning from the curb and into the line of traffic. The vehicle shall in no event enter the line of traffic until the driver has ascertained that no hazard exists. (Code 1970, § 34-28; Code 1980, § 32-222)
