2.56.020 - Removal of persons currently in city service. On the effective date of this chapter, if any person is serving in a nonpaid or nonsalaried office, position, employment or duty with the city, and is related within the second degree by affinity or within the third degree by consanguinity to a city officer, or member of a city board, committee or commission who appointed, voted for, or confirmed his appointment, or to any other member of the board, committee or commission of which the individual so appointing, voting or confirming may be a member, such person is automatically removed from his office, position, employment or duty effective immediately. (Prior code § 2-3.3(b))
