2.52.030 - Application—Investigation—Mental and moral qualifications. The chief of police shall make such investigation as may be appropriate to determine the fitness of the applicant and the necessity or desirability of making the appointment from the standpoint of the public interest. The applicant shall have the mental and moral qualifications necessary for an appointment on the regular police force, but the physical qualifications may be waived. (Prior code § 2-4(2))
