§ 7-302. Purpose of Floodplain Overlay District. The Floodplain (“FP”) Overlay Zoning District regulates the placement and use of structures and the use of land in the floodplain, with the design towards: (1) protecting human life and health; (2) minimizing damage to public and private property; (3) preventing or minimizing future flood damage; (4) protecting the public water supply and sanitary sewage disposal systems; (5) preserving natural drainage systems; and (6) reducing financial burdens imposed on the City and its citizens.
