Sec. 601.109. - Prohibited activities relating to promotion or appointment. It shall be unlawful and a class D offense for any person seeking employment to, or promotion in, the City or independent agency service to either directly or indirectly give, promise, render, or pay any money, service, or other valuable thing to any person for, or on account of, or in connection with or for the purpose of influencing or affecting their test, appointment, proposed appointment, promotion or proposed promotion.
