§ 25-6-294 - ALTERNATE MATERIALS, DESIGNS, AND CONSTRUCTION METHODS. (A) The director of the Public Works Department may approve an alternative material, design, or method of construction from that required by this article or the Transportation Criteria Manual if the director of the Public Works Department determines that the alternative is safe, durable, and equivalent to the requirements set out in this article and the Transportation Criteria Manual. (B) Materials, designs, or methods of construction approved under Subsection (A) must be used and installed in accordance with the terms of approval.
