Sec. 156.101. - Legislative Authorization. This Chapter is enacted in the interest of the public health, peace, safety, morals and general welfare of the citizens and inhabitants of Duval County, Florida, pursuant to Fla. Const. Article VIII, Section 1(g), F.S. § 125.01, and the Charter of the City of Jacksonville. It is established to regulate the use of electronic means to effect giveaways through drawings by chance conducted in connection with the sale of a consumer product or service, sweepstakes, and game promotions that do not otherwise violate Florida law.
