Sec. 2-811 - Definitions.

(a) By request means any ordinance, motion, or resolution and amendments thereto that are not originated by a member of the city council. (b) Legislative instrument shall mean an ordinance, motion, resolution of the city council, and any amendment thereto. (c) Ordinance shall mean a legislative act of the city council that may become law after adoption. (d) Motion shall mean a legislative document that gives city council authorization or approval for a certain act. (e) Resolution shall mean a legislative document that expresses the wishes or intent of the city council.
