54.20. - Purpose.

The purpose of this ordinance is to minimize negative impacts of stormwater runoff rates, volumes, and quality on Minneapolis lakes, streams, wetlands, and the Mississippi River by guiding development and redevelopment activity and by assuring the long-term effectiveness of stormwater best management practices. Chapter 54 establishes regulatory thresholds for conservation practices and planning activities to establish policies regarding water resource management and flood control as described in city, regional, state, and federal documents, and statutes.
